• Although imposing public gatherings of more than 5 people under the section of 144, there are anti-coup mass protests still happening in downtown Yangon, also in Manday around this noon of Feb 9. 
• It is reported that about 30 protesters and the DVB’s correspondent have been arrested at around 11:30 am today during the anti-coup demonstration in Mandalay, after that at around 12:30 pm DVB correspondent was released. 
• A ban on public gatherings of more than 5 people, delivering speeches, protesting, along with rioting by vehicles or in person, and a 8pm-4pm curfew  was imposed under section 144 of the Penal Code have been issued in 44 townships of Yangon (except Coco Island), Mandalay, Naypyidaw and other states and regions on Feb 9.
• On Monday(feb8) night, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of Myanmar’s junta, addressed the nation for the first time  since a coup a week ago. In his address, as previously, justifying their takeover that there were election frauds in both pre election and post election, and asked for justice on those election frauds, but no consideration was provided by UEC. And he added a new election would be held and power handed to the winning party, and urging the public to prioritise actual facts but not feelings.
• Members of National League for Democracy (NLD) and the public staged a protest in front of the NLD headquarters in Yangon this morning (Feb 9) against the military coup.
• In Tachileik, Shan State, U Tint Swe, chairman of Mizzima Social Association and U Kyaw Myint, a member of NLD were arrested last night (Feb 8).
• About 1,000 teachers, students and lawyers in Bago have joined the anti-coup demonstration at 8:30 am this morning.
• Hundreds of thousands of protesters including educational workers, judiciary, and health workers in Myeik, Tanintharyi region, joined the protest as the third day on Feb 9 against the military dictatorship.
• As of 8 PM, 8 Feb, a total of 1,987 samples were tested and found more 4 new cases and 2 deaths. MoHS has reported 141,427 of total confirmed cases including 

127,975  discharged, and 3,177 deaths.

• New Zealand Foreign Minister Hon Nanaia Mahuta announced  that  it will suspend all high-level political and  military contact with Myanmar. The announcement expressed   “deeply concerned at the coup in Myanmar, and do not recognise the legitimacy of the military-led government and call on the military to immediately release all detained political leaders and restore civilian rule”.

• In Maha Aung Myay township, Mandalay, two protesters were killed and three others were injured when a car hit a motorcycle, and people in 38th street at around 7:30 pm on Feb 8 and it ran away, according to Ko Hlaing Min Oo, Myanmar Social Relief Organization.
• Monks from Thidagu Buddhist Universities called for a peaceful way to form a government as soon as possible in line with the public will and actions in accordance with the Dhamma, according to the joint statement by Thidagu Buddhist Universities on Feb 8.

• The lists of the townships under the order of section 144 of Penal Code include; 44 townships (except Coco Island) in Yangon region, Pyinmana, Lelway, Tatkone, Zayar Thiri, Dakkhina Thiri, Pobba Thiri, Ottara Thiri, Zabu Thiri in Naypyidaw council territory,  Chan Mya Tharzi, Pyi Gyi Tagon, Mahar Aung Myay, Chan Aye Tharzan, Aung Myay Tharzan, Patheingyi, Myingyan, Amarapura in Mandalay region, Magway, Pokkou in Magway region, Sagaing, Shwebo, Monywa, Kalay in Sagaing region, Winemaw, Bamaw, Moekaung, Shweku, Moenyin, Hpakant in Kachin state, Loikaw in Kayah state, Mawlamyine, Than Phyu Zayat, Yay, Kyaikto in Mon state, Kyinetone, Taunggyi, Tachileik, Naungcho, Lashio, Kalaw, Thibaw, Muse, Kyaukme in Shan state, Kyainseikgyi, Myawaddy, Hpa-an in Kayin state.
• Karen State Chief Minister Nang Khin Htwe Myint, a member of the NLD Central Executive Committee, was arrested for a second time by the military February 8, according to The NLD Central Committee member Kyi Toe. 
• It is reported the newly formed military-run government has offered to some political parties including the SNLD, The New Society Democratic Party and other ethnic parties to join the government,  and the offer was rejected.
• Myanmar Railway workers in Yangon have also joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and protested in front of the Insein Park against the military coup.
