On February 20, the 10 ethnic armed organizations_EAOs that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement_NCA announced a joint statement that they oppose the military coup and will suspend political talks with the military junta. The statement calls for the immediate release of all detainees, and expresses that they are against the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters.

U Nyi Nyi Shwe, a 88 Generation Student was forcely arrested by a group of men on February 20,  around 8:30 pm while he was sitting in a restaurant near a high school in Taunggyi, Shan state. 

On February 21(today), Facebook removed the page of the military’s news information team, which has been the main source of information on the coup d’état in Myanmar.

Residents protested in front of the ward office this morning, demanding they did not want a ward administrator directly appointed by the coup junta, in Kone Lat Paung village,  Mingaladon Township,Yangon.  

The General Strike Committee (GSC) was formed on February 20 by the 25 organizations, including civil society, political parties, and any other relevant stakeholders. The committee is mainly aimed for the overthrow of the military dictatorship, along with for the repeal of the 2008 constitution, and for a federal democratic union.

Five youths were arrested by the military at around 10 pm on November 20 in Putao, Kachin State, for leading an anti-military protest, the locals said.

A well-known actor and director, Lu Min was forcely arrested by the military on the night of February 20. His wife declared on facebook_ “the door was broken down by, they did not say where he would be taken, and he was forcibly taken away. ”

Police had destroyed a vast printed slogan, “WE WANT DEMOCRACY”, written by the anti-coup young people  on the street in the city of Kalewa, Sagaing region.

Ward Township Administrators in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region have been fired by the Township General Administrator’s Office.

Under the military dictatorship, some Ward or Township Administrators resigned and joined the civil disobedience movement-CDM. It is reported that the military state administrative council is appointing new ward or township administrators, and locals are protesting by banging pots and pans in some states and regions.

The young anti-coup protesters were arrested while they were writing a slogan_”WE WANT DEMOCRACY” on the uphill street in Hpakant,Kachin state. And some of them were released, after thousands of people protested  for the immediate release of the youth  in front of the police station.Two protesters were shot dead and at least 45 people were injured and more than 20 were arrested during the anti-coup  protest at Mandalay Yatanarpon shipyard yesterday (Feb 20) evening.
