The State Administrative Council, including 11 members, chaired by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, including eight military leaders and  three civilian leaders,  was recently formed  to assume gov’t functions on February 2.

The State Administrative Council has been reshuffling top government officials: Union Ministers, Union Election Commission, the Central Bank, Police Chief , Attorney General and Auditor-General.

• On Feb 2, the State Administrative Council recently appointed NayPyiTaw Council Chairman and 12  Chairmans of Region or State Administrative Council.

• The State Administrative Council announced on Feb 2 that it has appointed a new chairman with  5 new members of the Union Election Commission.
• U Than Nyein was newly appointed as chairman of the Central Bank, according to  the  announcement  of the State Administrative Council on Feb 2. 
• The State Administrative Council announced on Feb 2 that Myanmar Police Chief Lt. Gen. Aung Win Oo retired.
•  The Deputy Attorney General was  dismissed, according to  the  announcement  of the State Administrative Council on Feb 2. 

• On Feb 2, the State Administrative Council recently appointed  Dr. Kan Zaw as the Auditor-General of the Union and Daw Thida Oo as the Attorney General of the Union.
• Pado Man Nyein Maung resigned as a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Karen National Union(KNU) and joined the newly-formed State  Administrative Council.
• On Feb 2, the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services announced a statement of Information for the people. 

• The KNU Concerned Group announces that it does not accept the administration of the military and will protect itself from self-determination in Karen revolutionary territory.
• The office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services announced on Feb 1 that the peace talks Committee of the Tatmadaw was reconstituted with 6 Lieutenant-Generals led by Lt-Gen Yar Pyae.  

• Residents in Yangon banged on iron buckets, pots and pans, and honked car horns to protest against the military coup around 8 PM on Feb 2. 
• Myanmar medical staff in the most major cities are planning to conduct a campaign of civil disobedience against the military after Monday’s coup as they don’t want to serve a new government run by the military.
• The Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement Signatory – Ethnic Armed Organizations 

(NCA-S EAO) condemned the military’s way of addressing the current political crisis by means of coup d’etat and demanded the immediate release of detained leaders, according to the statement of the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) on Feb 2.

• U Min Ko Naing, leader of 88 generation students, gave a video message about  calling for a No Recognition and Non-Participation strike against the military dictatorship.  
• The UN Security Council was not able to issue a joint statement of all 15 member states concerning the Military coup in Myanmar because China and Russia  have not yet received  approval from their state officials.
• As of 8 PM, 2 Feb, a total of 12,377 samples were tested and found more 310 new cases and 8 deaths. MoHS has reported 140,664 of total confirmed cases including 125,885  discharged, and 3,146 deaths.
