Activist unable to leave town for medical treatment

Mar 3, 2008 (DVB), Naw Ohn Hla, a veteran protestor who led the regular Tuesday prayer campaign, has been unable to seek medical treatment due to movement restrictions imposed upon her by the authorities.

Naw Ohn Hla was placed under movement restrictions in Hmawbe township for one year for taking part in public demonstrations in September last year.

She has been suffering from bone problems for some time, and has now developed a bone spur on the back of her neck, according to a friend of hers, and now has to wear a neck collar at all times and suffers from pain and dizziness.

But she has been unable to see her regular osteopath in San Chaung township because of her movement restrictions, which require her to remain in Hmawbe township.
