Asian football tournie kicks off today in Burma

Following its success as hosts of the SEA Games last December, Burma today kicks off yet another major sporting event – the Asian Football Confederation’s U-19 Championship. The competition will last from 9– 23 October with matches played at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre Stadium in Rangoon and Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Naypyidaw. Burma play Yemen on Thursday, while Iran are pitted against Thailand, and China meet Japan.
