Bomb found and cleared in Myawaddy

A homemade bomb was found in Myawaddy near the Burma-Thailand friendship bridge at around 7am on Monday. Anti-mine personnel from field engineering troops in nearby Thin Gan Naung successfully cleared the ordnance. There are currently no suspects and the motivation for placing the explosive in front of a car accessory shop remains unknown. The local Border Guard Force and at least ten additional troops have been installed near the bridge to maintain security.
