BRIEF - Burma preps for Asian Games in S Korea

Training is underway for about 95 Burmese athletes and coaches set to compete in ten sports during the upcoming 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. An official serving on the Competition and Training Subcommittee of Burma’s Ministry of Sports said that the athletes will vie for the regional titles in archery, judo, shooting, taekwondo, takraw, track and field, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu. The games are scheduled for 19 September – 4 October, and will be contested by athletes from 45 Asian countries.
