BRIEF - Date-rape drugs seized at Thai-Burmese border

Nearly one million date-rape pills en route to Burma were confiscated in northwestern Thailand’s Tak Province on Sunday, Thai police confirmed. The drugs, which included Xanax, Razepam and Frisium, arrived by truck in Mae Sot, near the Burmese border. The stash was intercepted at a ferry dock before being smuggled over the Moei River. Police told DVB that they are still investigating suspected involvement. Local media cited a customs official claiming that the drugs came from Pakistan by way of Singapore before arriving in Thailand.
