BRIEF – Doctor's note needed for tinted windows

Owners of vehicles with tinted windows in Burma will now need a recommendation from a doctor to justify the alterations. Police have announced a crackdown on blacked-out windows, enforcing a ban that has been in place since the days of the military regime in the 1990s. A dermatologist’s note will now be the only way for motorists to escape a penalty if their windows have a visible light transmittance level of less than 60 percent, according to Burma’s traffic police chief.
