BRIEF - EU to provide 4m euros to tackle climate change in Burma

The European Union has provided 4 million euros in assistance for a four-year programme between the government’s Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry (MOECAF), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). This aid will go towards implementing the Myanmar Climate Change Alliance programme, which will address climate change situations in the country’s national policies. An MoU was signed in Naypyidaw on 10 July to formalise this agreement.
