Two men claiming to be members of the Karen National Union were arrested on Monday in Hpa-an, Karen State. According to police, drugs and guns were seized from their car in a search carried out on a local bridge across the Salween River. Police believe the men to be impostors. “They are not from any group, just pretending, just ordinary civilians. Said Brig-Gen Timothy, of Hpa-an police.
