BRIEF - PEN launches lit contest for Intl Peace Day

A literature contest sponsored by the Burmese chapter of international writers’ association PEN International has opened a nationwide call for short novels and poems by emerging writers. The theme of the competition is civil conflict, and submissions are limited to writers with no more than five years of experience. Deadline for submissions is 20 June. Three winners and 12 other finalists will be featured in a book to be published on 21 September, marking International Peace Day.
