BRIEF – South Korean FM to visit Burma this week

South Korea’s foreign minister, expected to arrive in Burma today for a four-day trip, will ink an investment treaty and unveil a monument commemorating victims of a 1983 Rangoon bombing, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-Se will meet with his Burmese counterpart, Wunna Maung Lwin, in Naypyidaw to discuss incoming investment and to seek help curbing North Korea’s nuclear programmes, said a South Korean official. The unveiling of the US$712,000 monument will take place on Friday, South Korea’s Memorial Day.
