BRIEF - Thai military nabs 71 Burmese migrants

Seventy-one undocumented migrants from Burma were arrested in southern Thailand following a tip-off on Sunday, the Bangkok Post reported. The 55 men and 16 women were found on an oil palm plantation in Ranong province, where they are thought to have been en route to Phuket, Suart Thani, Songkhla and Malaysia by way of human traffickers. Just before being carted to their final destinations, the migrants were met and apprehended by a military unit of the 25th Infantry Regiment.
