Burmese government offers payout for Lincang blast

The Burmese government has offered compensation to the families of those killed in the inadvertent bomb blast that hit Yunnan Province last week, according to Chinese state media. Four people were killed and nine injured when a bomb was dropped by a warplane, prompting a strengthening of China’s military presence along the border. The Chinese government has yet to respond to the compensation offer, which the Global Times newspaper puts at approximately $11,000.
