Burmese navy warns of test manoeuvres

The Burmese government has warned civilian planes and vessels to avoid certain parts of the Bay of Bengal between 27 March and 6 April as it is planning a naval exercise. Navy warships and live fire will be used in the test manoeuvres to the west of Manaung Island, also known as Cheduba Island. Passenger and cargo ships, fishing trawlers and motorboats have been told to stay clear of the area, while aircraft have been instructed to maintain an altitude of above 15,000 feet.
