Cycling for women's rights

The Netherlands’ R4WR (Ride 4 Women’s Rights) team is on a cycling expedition as part of their 400-day journey of 14,000 km from Jakarta to Amsterdam, starting last September. Arriving in Burma via Mae Sot on 2 February, they will be biking through the country for three weeks. They aim to raise awareness for women’s rights worldwide, having visited local women empowerment projects in Burma, such as CARE Myanmar and Sex Worker in Myanmar Network (SWiM). Another upcoming event is the Yangon Women’s Festival, starting at Rangoon, it will run from 2-8 March. Read more.
