Malaysian trafficking gang busted

Malaysian police arrested five men from Burma, believed to be members of a human trafficking syndicate, while rescuing 28 other Burmese nationals in a raid on a shop in Sungai Bakap, western Malaysia, on Tuesday. Malaysian state media cited a police source saying that the raid was conducted after a 27-year-old Burmese had reported that the gang was holding his sister, brother-in-law and their son, aged four, while demanding a ransom for their release.
