Peace talks to be held in Rangoon on 22 Sept

Ethnic peace negotiating bloc Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team has accepted an invitation to meet with the government’s Union Peace-making Work Committee for the sixth and perhaps final round of peace talks on 22 September at the Myanmar Peace Centre in Rangoon. The two sides plan to discuss remaining disagreements over several points in the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, with the aim of reaching a peace deal by late October. Political dialogue should commence within 90 days of signing the accord.
