UWSA to conduct early census

The United Wa State Army (UWSA) will conduct a census in the autonomous Shan State Special Region-2 in early March. The survey preempts a scheduled government census, set to be conducted later in the month. The UWSA says that the process may take extra time for them because of a lack of experience and poor transit access in the region. The group speculates that there are around 14 different ethnic groups in the region with a population of about 450,000.
