Bomb blast in Kachin capital leaves three wounded

Three people were injured when a bomb exploded in Kachin state’s capital Myitkyina this morning.

A Myitkyina resident told DVB the bomb exploded around 7:30am this morning near a police booth at the intersection with Myitkyina Hospital, leaving two men and a woman injured.

“Three people have been hospitalised. Their injuries aren’t very serious,” said the resident.

Police in Myitkyina said they are scrubbing the scene for clues that could indicate what type of explosives were used in the attack.

A similar incident occurred in the town on 14 April. No groups have claimed responsibility for the bombings.
