A fire broke out in Rangoon Sanchaung township in the morning on Monday leaving several homes and shops destroyed.

Around seven homes, one rice shop and several grocery stores were devastated by the blaze but there has been no reports of any injuries.

According Rangoon Division’s Fire Services Department fire trucks from nearby townships were rushed to Sanchaung to assist putting out the fire that was designated a level-4 threat.

Authorities still working to establish the cause of the fire and the cost of the damage.
