Voting for a change?
The Burmese military regime announced on 19 February that it had approved its draft constitution, which is to be put before the Burmese people in a referendum in May this year. The junta has also said it plans to hold general elections in 2010.
There have been repeated calls for the junta to give a timetable for democratic transition, and so the pledge to hold elections was welcomed by some, including United Nations special envoy Ibrahim Gambari and the Singaporean government, as a positive development.
But the announcement was met with strong criticism from opposition activists, rights groups and much of the international community. The US government dismissed it as a “sham”, while UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon called for the constitution process to be more inclusive and transparent.
National League for Democracy members said that elections held by the regime would not have any credibility when the results of the 1990 elections have still not been recognised, and questioned how the date for a general election could be fixed when the constitution has not yet been approved by the people.
The junta’s claims of democratic elections have also been undermined by a statement by chief justice U Aung Toe reaffirming the military’s role in political leadership and by reports that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi would not be allowed to run for office under the constitution because of her marriage to a foreign national.
Do you think there is any hope for free and fair elections in Burma? Does the announcement of a constitutional referendum and general elections show that the junta has recognised the need for democratic transition? Or is it impossible to bring about real change with a constitution that does not represent the views of the people?

How can there be democratic elections in a country plagued by lack of freedom, and lately by a terrible cyclone, how can we believe in democracy for Burma when the government ignores the basic needs of people injured, traumatized, dying, starving, how can we even think of trusting this kind of people? This is an absolute nightmare, the international community HAS to help, and not only during this crisis, but in the long term, it is unacceptable that we allow this terror to happen.

Take this time to pressure the government to allow NLD major role in disaster relief actions. Pressure the junta to open further.

Before doing anything just ask the butchers first if they are Okey with a third party, that may be UN organization, to supervise the coming elections. If the regime does not accept this it is crystal clear that they are not honest. If this is the case, the world body and the world community must stop the foul game which is to be played by the gun-wielding regime or let the blood shed on Burma's soil -- killing each other, one is the junta's running dogs (members of USDA and Soonahrshin among others) and the other is people who want Freedom.

There are no other options, choices but the one drafted by Military Brain.
First, the People of Myanmar must go for refrerandum to continue or abort the 1948 Constitution. If Yes vote wins, there must be three varieties of draft Constitutions with different Principles for discussion and voting (Three varieties of Flags, National Anthems, Role of Military, Election procedures of President, Authorities delegated, so-on. the one with the most yes votes will be Full Flagging Constitution.

Why the stupid SPDC guy want to change the UNITARY Country.
We are UNION and we have (7) states and Divisions.
Those SPDC are making country trouble in pusing to """" CIVIL WAR"""".
We have no way to proove the UNITARY FLAG and their LOUSY constitution in May 2008.
So we have no choice, because they have ARM and POLICE 500,000 and 457,000 of permanent soliders.
So we have to prepare to make confrontation with them,
1. Now, SPDC start the BOMB blasting from their sources and we have no intention to hold ARM and Public also watching the brutal action in this time.
2. Now, we have to find out the selected perons for watching and taking the photos from each POOLS around the country.
3. We have to RECRD and lists for those each POOLS responsible persons and recorded persons (Confidential) to report to NLD or other related groups in oversea or UN or etc.
4.We NEED to AVOID the becoming of CIVIL WAR due to SPDC/JUNTA is trying to agitation and out come of CIVIL WAR, otherwise they have no SECOND CHOICE. First Choice is REFERENDUM and must understand their RISK and HAZARD in May 2008.

I need to change my name because the name was same as military brutual's name. They are killer and we have no seen in burmese history as like as those Junta or SPDC peoples.

Actually, this vote or forum will not change Myanmar as long as this junta mechanism is not watchful by international. Even people who inside have only a chance to give their voices of voting NO for this junta's referendum next month, it will come again. As I got news from Myanmar, the Burmese military regime is planing for cheating the votes. They will reject 'No votes' by any ways. Whatever they vote, Yes or No, it has to be surely correct way and not to be rejected. Please let me request to NLD as I am the one of Myanmar people:
since the NLD is a legal political party, please consider to get the post of legal witness for counting the votes. Also, NLD should have the right to explain the people how to vote the correct way, Yes or No. Also the NLD should get the right to explain about the new draft constitution. 1. The USDA member are more than 2.2 million among public and their % should be coming more.
The population for casting voters are neary 35 million and must takecare for the family and cuivil servant voters.

Thanks for all high light of those Voting matter in Burma.
The Junta is trying to defy the all groups at Thailand Boder according military sources.
So, all of our brothers hood, Shan, Kachin, Kayin, Mon and all must be take care in this time.
SPDC dealed the BIG ARM for purchasing and some their Singapore connected companies are changing US Dollar in Rangoon and SPDC will make the counter fate vote through USDA and Ko Aye Lwin Group (Who were from ABSDF before and now they were departed from ABSDF).
We read the some one idea is showing to set up the "INternational Student Union" is right for this time.
Because we need to recruit from students and public from Middle and High School and all Universities around the world.
That will more clean and more bright for young generation.
This time all activits are trying to co-operate each group and must ties up each group openly.

We would like to inform to Burmese Public for the 2008 May Pool.
1. If we are not going to POOL, the chance to win the Pool fron NLD is only 25 %.
2. If we are going to Pool and give the Vote for for decided Vote what ever "X' or etc, we will get the chance to win 50 % for NLD.
3.IF we are going to Pool and Voting "X" will get the chance to win 75 % forn NLD and Public.
Anyhow, the young generation, Public, Students, and Monks are very strong position and will get the "WIN- Win" situation because "buddha" and "TRUTH" are infront of ours and the brutual Military regime should be end very near future.
The Pool could be faced with USDA movement and they can start the crisis when the voting time.

SPDC thought that Public have no time and no knowledge of this Referendum at first, now we are questioning to them,
1. Where is the 1990 election result !!!!!!!
2. If we win for this Referendum,
SPDC must accept the NLD referendum and where is their promise !!!!!!
3. If NLD and Public loose, the 45 SPDC memebres drafted the constitution must be amedment by Public atlease 75 %.
Where is the 1/90 statement and 1/90 is still in legal fold as LAW and the elceted Party and Candidates are also still alive in Lagal fold and Law. Is it correct !!!!!!

Just a week ago, I’ve been informed by my friend in Singapore that Burmese Embassy in Singapore mailed him these documents for voting registration to his residence. Apparently, they got the address from his tax filing forms. He’s now having difficulty deciding whether to respond to the letter or not. These villains are moving at the maximum force.
This whole draft constitution and election issue made me remember my childhood friend who would restart the chess game every time until he won and unfortunately, he never did.
Most experts said that it is unlikely that the National League for Democracy, which was absent from the constitutional drafting process, would be allowed to contest any elections. Even if NLD is allowed to participate, a whole bunch of the chosen representatives are either in prison, exile, quitted or dead.
One widely reported provision in the proposed constitution states that people who are or had been married to foreigners may not run for Parliament. That would rule out Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. whose late husband, Michael Aris, was British.
If this is any similar to my childhood friend’s chess game, he wants his opponent to restart the game and also remove the Queen piece and his only reason for that new rule is because it’s not the same color as his.

The 2008 May Pool is coming near future,
So, what shall we do and prepare for that days,
1. SPDC can make 9,18 or 27 of May 2008 for that POOL.
2. Public must take what they give present and must show the real mind in their POOL Box.
3. The 1990 election result could be disappered if we accept 2008 or 2010 Pool.
4.The SPDC and USDA groups have well prepared for that May 2008. So we have to consider and move depend on situation.
5. Must form Group by group leaders and must co-operate more than before between our groups of Democracy.
6.SPDC have no choice the 1/90 is cancel, NLD can right to call the Parliament.
If not cancel 1/90, SPDC must cancel the 5/96. So they are trapped in their Law and promissory notes of election and no one can not draft the constitution except elected NLD or elecetd candidates.
Now their SELECTED 45 candidates are not right to their law 1/90 on 27 July,2008.

So, we have no choice for the Burma, (1) To show more openly to SPDC (2) this time is the right time and highest degree of poliyical role (3) SPDC reached the hell position and no one able to save them.(4) The Monks and Public and Students stregth is very strong and their god fathe Russia, China and Thailand are also not able to support them. But Thailand will take all their LOAN from our Offshore Gas income.

Oppositions or demcoracy groups have 3 voices now.
1. NO VOTE for referendum
2. VOTE NO at referendum
3. VOTE YES and VOTE to democratic parties and win again within our limit legally that even government staffs also can do like 1990.

There is very clear,the election will never free and fair since they removed Gen. Saw Maung and Gen. Khin Nyunt.The fear of the rest of their life security and their families,their pocessions.There's need a way of outlet, so far means current draft constitution.
Right or wrong?,they decide to move on. Some information sources says, they will gather people from village cell in a certain place and then announce that "whoever doesn't support the Constitution can step outside" like this.
But they may use several strategic cunning plan to work out.

Junta nnaouncemnt of 19 Feb 2008 is the incompetent of National Constitution for Burma.
Why we are saying for that means,
1.SLORC or Junta or SPDC declared that 1990 election is sincere and justified by publicc will and selected the most suitable party for Burma.
All General also make commitment to transfer the POWER and they are not invloved after election.
(2) Then they issued the 1/90 statement and Gen Khin Nyunt delivered at 100th, News conference that the NC must be draft by ELECTED Persons from Elected Party NLD and will form with Farmers, Laours, Technicians, Ethnic groups, and some from State Owned Department and etc.
Then SLORC/SPDC formed the National Constitution Steering Commettee with their SELECTED persons and TTHEY WILL MAKE PEOPLES DESIRED NC again in 2008 May.
So we need to ask to all of sevents are going to which GOAL.
1. SPDC can keep the 2010 result because they broke the 1990 RESULT recently.
2. NO WAY to go to 2010 Campaign.
3.SPDC will make 2008 POOL by force and will kill again to Monks, Public and all .
4.We have to take action EFFECTIVELY ways or attack to Junta.NLD declared the INTRIM GOVENMENT OR CALLED THE PARLIAMENTstatus inside Myanmar and out side Myanmarm which is more effective !

When the regime has announced to hold another election in 2010 it reminds me about a fairy tale. A tricky lion that was planning to kill and eat all its prey convinced the other animals by saying: "Believe me. I will never eat my neighbours like you again in the future. Instead, I will eat vegetables and fruits. Don't be strangers to me."
The leopard never change its spots and the hands that stain with bloods will never stop killing. Once a thief is always a thief. To some politicians or diplomats or whoever have agreed to the decision of SPDC they will for sure regret later on. How come they easily accept the words that come out of the mouth of those who brutally killed people of their own country, who are telling lies to the world and not paying heed to the world body and the religious monks whom, they said, they are worshipping.
Men of principle or gentlemen will consider the latest move of regime is not a democratic way to make a decision of their own, especially for the interest of the country and people. These military butchers have done a lot of bad things to numerous people and forcibly grabbing the power for many years, enough time to accumulate their wealth. They even broke the promise to handover power to the winning party in the elections that took place nationwide. And now instead of handing over power and make peace to people and their opponent party they are still trying to stall the time and talking about a cock and bull story. If the mediators are the right persons they would never allow the thief to give a second chance.
The world already has concrete evidences of their atrocities and crime. In this connexion, why should we back off and not stand against the thugs and their followers and not speak up for the truth. The way it should be is the international community and the UN member countries must not accept the military regime's "back-to-square-one" scheme.
Let me remind all the people who are eligible to give vote not to become victims of a double cross by the regime. Beware of the trap set up by the military butchers. Stay away from polling booths and boycott the back-to-square-one elections.

Q: Do Burmese Military Junta really want democracy?
A: The answer is NO. If they really want democracy it is already done in 1990. They don’t need to hold another election again. The result of general election in 1990 is still legal and valid.
Q: So now why they talk about democracy?
A: Because they know that all people of Myanmar want democracy and do not like military government. And the whole world, except few communist countries, are giving them a lot of pressure by imposing embargo and restriction. They know they can not survive.
Q: Do they really want the people to elect the government?
A: No. They don’t want the people to elect the government they want. They want to force the people to elect military dictators.
Q: Do they want to give the power to the people?
A: No. They have been holding power by guns and brutality for 45 years. They have committed unpardonable crimes against the citizens including foreigners. How can they dare to handover the power and authority to the people and allow them to put them in court and put the rope on their necks.
Q: Why do they declare road map to democracy?
A: Due to pressures from within and without, they have no choice. They have to bow to the pressure.
They are in crisis. The country is crisis. (However they don’t care about the country and people) But this road map to democracy in Myanmar under military junta is a false one. They are trying to trick the people and the world and hang on the power until or unless they no more on earth. (until they died)
It takes fourteen years to draft the constitution by their own groups. Again they will take another years to prolong their grip on power.
Q: Why do they not allow other democratic parties to participate in drafting constitution at national convention?
A: They want to draft their own constitution according to their planning to have control all important positions in the government. They want to bar Aung San Suu Kyi and other political elites to participate in election and become leaders of the country.
Q: Why do they declare the date for referendum to be held in three months?
A: They want to avoid further sanction, embargo and pressure from United Nations, United States, EU and other democratic countries.
Q: Why do they plan for general election in 2010?
A: The want to have a kind of legal government (elected government or democratic government) under their control as soon as possible to that they will escape from more sanction and embargo from other countries.
Q: What about the result of general election held in 1990?
A: It is legally elected by the people. The elected MPs are still valid and having the power to form a government. No one has declared the result of 1990 election void. It still stands. No one can hold another election while the result of the previous election in still valid.
Q: What will happen if the people say no to referendum in May 2008?
A: The military junta will hold another fourteen years draft constitution again and there will be no election.
Q: What will happen if people elect the opposition groups in 2010 election?
A: The military will hold on the power by giving another reason.
