Second delivery of military trucks from China

Jan 17, 2008 (DVB), A delivery of around 100 military trucks, the second installment of trucks sent by the Chinese government to the junta, arrived at the China-Burma border yesterday, eyewitness said.

Aung Kyaw Zaw, a military analyst based on China-Burma border, said the trucks were the second shipment of a total of 1000 trucks that have been given to the regime.

The FAW brand six-wheel military trucks arrived at China’s Jiang Hkong border area yesterday.

The first delivery of about 400 of the same trucks was made at the end of last year.

Aung Kyaw Zaw said the delivery of the trucks showed that the Chinese were being open in their support of the Burmese military regime.

"Before the 2000s, the Chinese government used to be discreet when they made these kinds of deliveries," he said.

"But now they are doing it in the open, showing less respect toward the Burmese people. We feel insulted."
