National League for Democracy co-founder and patron Tin Oo was rushed to the hospital after he fell in the bathroom of his home at around 11pm on Wednesday night. The 90-year-old senior party official is currently receiving treatment in Rangoon General Hospital’s neurological ward.

Initially, he was sent to Shwe Gon Daing Hospital and was later transferred to Rangoon General. Tin Oo reportedly lost consciousness for several hours but regained consciousness at about 8:40am on Thursday morning.
Doctors conducted a brain scan on the NLD patron, who has been a party stalwart since its founding in 1988.
In Mandalay on Thursday evening, NLD executive committee members organised a vigil at the city’s famed Mahamuni Pagoda, where they prayed for a speedy recovery for the party’s elder statesman.
