Nearly 3,600 civilians killed since coup, states AAPP

The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) stated that 3,600 civilians have been killed by the Burma Army since the 2021 military coup. At least 524 women and 394 children are among those killed. More than 1,500 are civilians from Sagaing Region. Others killed were from Mandalay, Yangon and Magway regions. At least 22,841 civilians have been arrested following the coup and 18,522 of them are currently in detention. Amongst those in prison, 20.3 percent are women and 2.7 percent are children.
