Army marching on road to democracy, says Min Aung Hlaing

The Burmese army “will not turn back, but will continue to march on the road to democracy”, said Commander-in-Chief Snr-Gen Min Aung Hlaing on Sunday. Speaking with the Interim Press Council in Naypyidaw, the army chief reiterated the military’s version of events from Kachin State last week – that an artillery shell which killed 23 cadets was a mistake. At the meeting, the military also agreed to hold workshops to improve relations with the media.
