BBC sued for racism in Top Gear Burma show

Somi Guha, a British actress of Indian descent, has instructed lawyers to sue the BBC over an allegedly racist remark made by TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson who shot a series of his popular show “Top Gear” at the River Kwai which borders Burma and Thailand. Having helped build a bridge over the river, Clarkson chimed: “That’s a proud moment, but there’s a slope on it”, as a man walked onto the structure. “Slope” is considered an offensive term in Britain for people of East Asian descent.
