BRIEF – 100,000 maps distributed for census

One hundred thousand area maps have been printed and distributed to enumerators for the purposes of conducting the upcoming census, says Burma’s Department of Immigration and Population. The maps provide details of houses and building projects in each district, it said, adding that foreign experts have trained 40 technical staff at the immigration department to collate the data. The census will be conducted from March 30 to April 10, the first since 1983.
