BRIEF - Fire at petrol shop result of negligence

A fire at a petrol shop in Henzada, Irrawaddy Division, demolished the shop and nearby clinic on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was suppressed within 15 minutes, and the local fire department has estimated damages at around 850,000 kyat (US$850). The shop was a branch of the Ayar Shwe Wah company. Police told DVB that the branch’s owner, Kyi Linn, has been charged with criminal negligence with regard to combustible materials. See photos here.
