BRIEF - Heat wave hurting fisheries on Irrawaddy

A drastic heat spike in the Irrawaddy delta is killing off the stock in local fisheries, forcing many operators to hold low-profit clearance sales for their remaining products. Tontay, Maubin and Pantanaw townships are among the hardest-hit areas. Win Kyaw, chairman of Tontay’s Fish Breeders Association, said the clearance sales have disrupted the supply chain and led to huge losses for fisheries.
