Koh Tao: British police provide prosecution evidence, break law?

British police who passed information to Thai prosecutors in the Koh Tao murder case may have contravened legal guidelines, as defendants Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo, both 21, are facing the death penalty. British government protocol forbids police from providing evidence in a case with a possible outcome of execution without assurances that capital punishment will not be sought. Rights group Reprieve says English police shared information gleaned from interviews with British witnesses, according to The Guardian.
