Penang police charge 6 Burmese with murder

Malaysian police have charged six Burmese migrants with murder, according to Malaysian daily The Star. Eleven Burmese nationals had been held as part of an investigation into the killings of at least 18 of their compatriots that have occurred in Penang since January 2014. Deputy Commissioner Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi was quoted as saying that he hopes to find grounds to charge the other five people as well. It is not known whether the murders are connected.
