BRIEF - Thai police arrest 51, including two Burmese, for call centre scam

Thai police and military forces raided a house on Sunday in Mae Sai, bordering Shan State’s Tachilek, and arrested 51 people – two of whom were Burmese – for running an illegal call centre operation. According to local news website Mai Sai News Online, a ring of scammers was targeting people in Thailand and abroad using fake credit cards. Forty-seven Taiwanese nationals, two Burmese nationals and two Thais were arrested, and officials pledged to lead an investigation into the operation, which allegedly involves government officials in central Thailand.
