  • The military-run Ministry of Information issued Feb11 a statement letter to  the Myanmar Press Council that not to press the term of usage “Coup Government”. The statement expressed the media are acting unethical actions including the misuse the term of “Coup Government” regarding on what the military is acting in accordance with the state of emergency acts of 2008 constitution, and urge to the Myanmar Press Council  “not to engage in provocative activities that cause public unrest and encouraged to act in accordance with the Media Code of Conduct”. 
  • Myanmar Press Council released today a statement concerning the Cyber Security Bill proposed by the Military that the bill is harmful to public freedom of expression online, in addition  hinder the most basic democracy and human rights,  and also freedom of the press in media and information security. The statement said that the bill should not be enacted due to obstruction of information, and against the 2008 constitution and  the Media Law.
  • About 50 Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University Students Union(MAEUSU) led students protested today(Feb13) in front of the Myanmar Airway International (MAI) office, demanding the suspension of airlines and urging the staff to join the CDM regarding MAI flights from China.
  • All train services; the operation of mailing train and all express train services have to be suspended due to the participation of Myanmar Railways staff in the Civil Disobedience Movement(CDM), according to local officials of irrawaddy region railway services on Feb 13. It is reported that staff from Govt public services across the country have been involved with CDM. 
  • It is reported today (Feb13) that road & ward safety will be provided by the public community in neighborhoods in Pazundaung Township, Yangon, on a rotating shift schedule at nights, after the day of  3 suspects were found and arrested by the community in Sanchaung township, Yangon last night(Feb12). 
  • In Yangon, Maukone Ward, Tamwe Township, would be self-administered until it came under the administration of the winning party, and the release of President-elect U Win Myint and State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, according to the statement by residents in Maukone ward today (Feb 13).
  • The Yangon Justice Center would provide free legal services to those who have been arrested and charged for any reasons related to the military.
  • Anti-coup demonstrations are taking place daily in Pyin Oo Lwin and there were 4 protest leaders who have been charged under section 505(b) of Penal Code for causing fear or alarm in the public on Feb 12.  
  • People are protesting today in front of the police station in Magway region for the release of U Nay Myo Kyaw, a detained anti-coup protest leader who was charged under section 25 of Natural Disaster Management Law.
  • On Feb 12, the Geneva special forum of the UN Human Right Council concerning current developments in Myanmar adopted a resolution brought by Britain and European Union and called on the Myanmar military to immediately release all arbitrarily detained officials including State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint, lift all the telecommunications and internet restrictions, respect peacefully assembly, and refrain from violence against the public. Of the 47-members, no country opposed the updated resolution but China, Russia, Bolivia, the Philippines, and Venezuela were distancing themselves from the resolution.

  • 20-year-old Mya Twal Twal Khaing, an anti-coup protester who was shot in her head at Tuesday’s demonstration against coup in Naypyidaw, was brain-dead. “Medically the brain is dead and it is like death”, her doctor confirmed. On Tuesday Naypyidaw anti-coup protests, police used water cannons and rubber bullets against hundreds of thousands of anti-coup demonstrators, leaving 2 protesters in critical condition including  Mya Twal Twal Khaing.
  • The Computer Federation and Association issued a statement on Feb12 that they will strongly object to the bill of Cyber Security Law proposed by the military. The statement warned that the bill violates every citizen’s right to freedom of expression and, and is against the law to protect the safety of all citizens. The federation expressed “the bill contains unwanted controls and restrictions, making it difficult for all businesses, and delays and penalties are possible”.
  • Yangon Region Hluttaw Representative Committee (CRYH) petition issued today to the lawyers to take the necessary legal action against arbitrary arrest and detention, according to NLD’s facebook page. The committee operated by elected MPs of Yangon region, requested that to stand with the public and to support if a citizen or any relevant organizations asks for legal assistance.
  • It is reported that the case of Dr. Aung Zaw, general manager of Burma Pharmaceutical Industry (BPI), who has been charged under section 56 of the Anti Corruption Law, was dropped by the prosecution in district court on Feb 11.
  • Facebook announced on Feb 11 that it would significantly reduce the distribution of all contents on pages and profiles run by the military including Tatmadaw True News Information Team’s pages as well as Brigadier-General Zaw Min Tun’s one. It would also protect contents including political speech that allows the people of Myanmar to express themselves and to show what is happening inside their country.
  • A total of 246 prisoners were released on Feb 12 in Meiktila and Tharsi townships, Mandalay, according to the Prison Department.
  • At least 10 people including the free funeral association’s chairman, vice-chairman of township National League for Democracy(NLD), and its members in Namsan and Kholam township, Loilin district, Southern Shan State, were arrested on Feb 11 due to anti-coup demonstration. 
  • More than 1,500 Myanmar nationals in Japan protested in front of the United Nation office in Tokyo last night (Feb 12) in support of the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and demanded the immediate release of detained officials.
  • 2 general administrators in Taungdwingyi who were involved in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) have been temporarily suspended from their duties.
  • The 88 Generation Peace and Open Society issued a statement on Feb 12 urging civilians taking part in the military-operated State Administration Council to resign as soon as possible to avoid all forms of sanctions.
  • In Mawlamyine, a large and capital city of Mon state,  9 detained civilian protesters including university students who joined the anti-coup protest on Feb 12 were released after riots between protesters and the police force.

  • The Sagaing region, Rakhine and Mon state government that under NLD’s administration deposed by the military, have announced that civil services will be given a public holiday until the new government (NLD’s govt) takes office, according to the NLD’s facebook page. The deposed ruling party, NLD has been announcing to the civil servants from the states and region govt offices across Myanmar to assume that as a public holiday and urging them to participate in civil disobedience movement (CDM).
  • The Yangon Region Hluttaw Representative Committee (CRYH) that recently formed by MPs of NLD, issued a statement today that from individual citizens to the detainees officials who have been facing arrest, trial and disturbances will be protected with personal freedom and security in accordance with the laws, according to NLD’s facebook page. 
  • Coup Leader Min Aung Hlaing released a report addressing the country on Feb 11 that  mentioned civil servants to attend the offices. He complained that “due to unscrupulous persons’ incitement, some civil service personnel have failed to perform their duties at present”. And he requested through the report that “to return to their duties immediately for the interests of the country and people without focusing on the emotion”. It is reported that more and more civil servants are getting involved in anti-coup CDM day by day.
  • Some anti-coup protesters including a volunteer teacher and health workers who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement ((CDM) in Kyaing Tong (Kengtung), Kunhing, and other cities in Shan State were arrested and threatened not to post pictures of protests on Facebook, a youth protester from Kyaing Tong told DVB.
  •  Three members of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD), well known as Tiger Head Party, were arrested, according to SNLD MP Sai SanTun of Kunhing.
  • The Kayan New Land Party announced on Feb 11 that they stand with the people of Myanmar who opposed the military dictatorship and called on the military to relinquish the power and hand it over to the officially elected NLD government.
  • About 200 locals in Thandwe, Rakhine state, gathered today (Feb 12) in front of the police station and demanded the release of arrested student protesters. 
  • There was a protest in front of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China today (Feb 12) in Yangon against the military dictatorship and demanded not to interfere in Myanmar’s affairs.
  • The US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has called on the military regime to relinquish power, restore the democratically-elected government, release all those unjustly detained, lift telecommunications and social media restrictions, and refrain from violence, according to the statement of the US Department of State on Feb 11.
  • The U.N. The Human Rights Council is holding a special session today(Feb12) discussing concerns on the Myanmar Military Coup.

  • Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, chairman of the coup administration, announced today the release of more than 20,000 prisoners including  55 foreign prisoners convicted of crimes before Jan 31, 2021 in prisons and jails across the country. 
  • On February 11, the coup administration council issued a directive dismissing ward and village tract administrators in Yangon Region.
  • 6 Tatmadaw (military) officers are appointed on Feb 11 as members of the Self-Administered States or Self-Administrative Regions Management Board by the military.
  • U Paul Lu Chan and Daw Su Mya Yin Yin Aye have rejected the appointment  of the member of military-operated State or Region Administrative Council in Kayah State.
  • On Feb11, the military appointed Region or State Administrative Council members at Kachin, Kayah, Kayin(Karen) and Chin state, 2 were appointed as members in each state
  • There are 88 commission chairmen and secretaries,  along with 10 regional officials from 44 townships in Yangon region( excluding Cocos Island),  a total of 98 election officials were detained at the Bayintnaung Tatmadaw interrogation, said Khin Maung Win, chairman of the Yangon Western District Election Commission. The military has been nationwide detaining officials from election commissions in various regions and states since the evening of February 10.
  • Ten students who were detained in yesterday’s anit-coup protest in Hpa-an, Karen State released last night(Feb11).
  • Medics including students from the universities of medicine have staged a protest in front of the Russian Embassy in Yangon this morning (Feb 12) against the military dictatorship.
  • In Magway, hundreds of thousands of protesters have joined the anti-coup demonstrations today (Feb 12) and the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) was 90 percent successful, according to political activists.
  • It is reported that more than 2,000 locals including health workers, volunteers gathered in front of the general administration office in Ingapu, Ayeyarwady region, and demanded the release of detained doctor who was arrested on Feb 11 by unknown persons, ward/village administrators in Ingapu were also forced to resign due to their CDM involvement.
  • As of 8 PM, 11 Feb, a total of 2,252 samples were tested, and found more 35 new cases and 3 deaths. MoHS has reported 141,522 of total confirmed cases including 128,981  discharged, and 3,184 deaths.
  • The US Department of the Treasury announced on Feb 11 that new sanctions under an executive order against Myanmar’s military leaders who directed the coup have been imposed. Sanctions targeted 10 current and former military officials including Myanmar military coup leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and acting president U Myint Swe and 3 companies connected to the military which include; Myanmar Ruby Enterprise, Myanmar Imperial Jade, and Cancri (Gems and Jewellery).

  • Despite a curfew, a ban on gatherings 5 or more than 5, the anti-coup mass demonstrations continue country-widely, featuring civil servants, teachers, Govt and banks officials, engineers and other groups such as, LGBTQIA+ community, pets lovers etc.,  by representing their professions. 
  • Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw – CRPH announced that the laws and  orders issued by Military-coup are not legitimate. The announcement added “there is no executive, judicial power and legislature exercised in an illegal coup d’état”.
  • The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw-CRPH announced today that legislation will protect the original duties and positions of employees involved in the CDM movement.
  • The Magway, Irrawaddy and Mandalay Region government  that organized the 2020 election elected MPs announced  that it will be a public holiday until the winning MPs of the 2020 election form a new government, according to National League for Democracy(NLD)’s facebook page.
  • It is reported that the first regular session of the third Kayah State Hluttaw was successfully convened on Feb 9 with 9 representatives from the deposed National League for Democracy (NLD) and 3 from Kayah State Democratic Party (KySDP).
  • Dr. Lin Htut, Shan State Chief Minister, and members of the NLD Central Executive Committee were arrested at their home last night (Feb 10), according to Shan state NLD. In addition, U Nyi Pu, the chief minister of Rakhine State had been taken from his homes as well. 
  • On Feb 10, France renewed its call for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested since the military coup on Feb 1 and expressed “extremely concerned” at the situation in Myanmar following the military coup and the measures taken against many elected officials and human rights advocates. 
  • President Joe Biden announced on Feb 10 that the United State was imposing new sanctions as the first round against military leaders who directed the coup, their businesses, and their close family members. And the US government was taking steps to prevent the generals having access to one billion dollars in Myanmar government funds held in the United States. Biden said that the US would impose strong export controls and freeze US assets that benefit the military-run government while maintaining its support for health care, civil society groups and other areas that benefit the people of Myanmar directly.
  • The  European Union (EU) could impose fresh sanctions on Myanmar’s military over its takeover but it should not harm the people of Myanmar, they were currently reviewing all possible options, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrel told lawmakers at the European Parliament. 
  • More than 3,000 locals staged a peaceful protest for the first time in Inlay Lake, southern Shan state today (Feb 11) against the military dictatorship.

  • Without giving any reasons, two unknown civilians tried to violently arrest Ko Zaw Thurein Tun, chairman of the Sagaing Division Computer Professionals Association, at the infront of his home, and escaped by the help of family and some neighbours. U  Zaw Thurein Tun, well-known actively participating in the anti-coup demonstrations in Sagaing region, and  also provides free computer services to Govt offices in the Sagaing region.  
  • U Win Ko Ko, secretary of the Shan State People’s Party, was arrested at around 1:30 pm on Feb10 at his father’s house in Aye Thayar Myothit, Taunggyi. U Win Ko Ko ran in the 2020 election in southern Shan State, representing the No. 2 candidate of People’s Party in Taunggyi Township. As of the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) update data, a total of 220 people have been arrested and detained since the Feb 1 military coup. 
  • Deputy Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw U Tun Tun Hein, also the central executive of the 2020 election-winning NLD party, was arrested a second time at his home in Naung Cho on Feb10 evening. NLD central executive was also arrested   a second time and  Naypyidaw Council chairman Dr Myo Aung at 4.30pm as well, according to NLD Central Committee member U Kyi Toe.
  • Military-operated media reported that about 20 police officers who took part in yesterday’s anti-coup protest in Loikaw are not permanent Myanmar police force members, and added “ just members of local force assigned under the job generation programme”.
  •  Yangon and Mandalay City Development Law was amended by the military on Feb 10, cancelling the chapters; 3, 4, 5 and 6 for Mandalay City Development Law and 3 and 4 for Yangon.
  • Mandalay and Yangon City Development Committee were newly formed on feb 10 by a military-operated State and State Administrative Council.
  • Ethnic nationals in Yangon have joined in the anti-coup demonstrations this morning (Feb 11). There were hundreds of thousands of people who staged protests against the military dictatorship in Yangon everyday after the Feb 1 coup. 
  • It is reported that the Chairman of Sagaing Election Commission including Naga Region and all secretaries were arrested at their homes at around 12 last night. According to some MPs, District Election Commission Chairman and secretaries were also arrested. 
  •  In Putao, Kachin state, up to 9 people who were protesting peacefully against the military dictatorship have been charged under Natural Disaster Management Law, according to locals.
  • Japanese MPs announced on Feb 10 that strong actions will be taken in collaboration with the United States and European Union if Myanmar Coup leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing does not comply with their calls including the immediate release of detained State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint, and other civilian leaders.
  • Kayin State Planning, Finance, and Development Minister U Than Naing, placed under house arrest, was arrested at Govt Housing at around 5:25 pm yesterday (Feb 10).
  • Myanmar Coup leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has sent a letter to Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and asked for help to support democracy, according to Bangkok Post on Feb 10. The Prime Minister said that they are supportive of the democratic process in Myanmar, the most important thing is to maintain relations as well as possible because it will benefit all Thai people, economy, and border trade.
  • As of 8 PM, 10 Feb, a total of 1,994 samples were tested and found more 39 new cases and 1 death. MoHS has reported 141,487 of total confirmed cases including 128,692  discharged, and 3,181 deaths.
