A fiberglass statue of Burma’s independence hero was completely destroyed by a man with mental illness in the Irrawaddy delta.
One student explained that while the play carried an anti-war message, it was in no way meant to be anti-military.
“I was docking the boat when it suddenly appeared out of nowhere and gnashed at my leg,” said Saw Naung.
The possessions are reported to have begun at Shan Yekyaw High School in August after the school expanded its compound into a neighbouring cemetery.
Over 3,000 local villagers returned home on Wednesday after a storm warning issued earlier in the week was lifted by the government’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
To date, 18 girls have been ‘possessed’ – a process which makes them vomit, cry and scream hysterically.
