While most Australians were happily tucking into bacon and eggs on Saturday morning, Jade Horrobin was finishing off the last of her week’s refugee rations.
The UN office says more than 536,000 people in Burma – about one percent of the country’s population – have been affected by conflict or inter-communal violence and are in need of protection.
Hopes are fast fading for the two Burmese mountaineers, Aung Myint Myat and Wai Yan, and a 27 September deadline has been set to find the climbers alive.
