Filming has finished for the first ever biopic of Aung San Suu Kyi, entitled The Lady and directed by Luc Besson. Taking the leading role is former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh who met the Burmese opposition icon in November last year. She told the Guardian shortly after her visit to Rangoon that “you feel a real sense of calm when you’re with her. She’s a very striking ­figure”.
