This year’s flooding has complicated Burma’s efforts to recover from the devastating inundation that hit much of the country last year.
The Myanmar Red Cross Society is calling for more help to deal with the aftermath of flooding across the country, as the number of those affected rises to 420,000.
More than 39,000 households in five states and divisions across Burma have been displaced by flooding so far this year, according to the Relief and Resettlement Department.

The Indian air force sends two cargo planes, while a Chinese convoy brings rice, noodles and medicine. The EU, Britain and USA all offer donations.
