Health care in Burma
Blood sugar tests are conducted at each clinic. Most patients who have diabetes are on oral hypoglycaemia drugs, which BBHC buys from India and offers to patients at a subsidized cost. Few are on insulin injections because of the difficulty in semi-urban areas in ensuring the insulin stays cool. Many clinic patients don't have refrigerators at home, and even buying ice for an icebox sometimes exceeds their ability to pay.
