Following a recent spate of fatal accidents, government authorities in Arakan State have distributed life jackets to ferry boat operators in the region.
Three students have been found dead and four others are still missing after a ferry sank in a creek in Arakan State’s Ponnakyun township yesterday.
The Arakan regional parliament has formed a commission to investigate a ferry boat disaster off the coast of Myebon which cost dozens of lives on 13 March.
