Members of the Burma Affairs and Conflict Study, a research organization based in Thailand, spoke to DVB during its new report launch about the regime 2025-26 elections called “Respect Myanmar” in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on Dec. 22. BACS researchers visited 14 cities in 11 provinces of Thailand.
It conducted interviews with 209 Myanmar migrants. According to the report, 98 percent of Myanmar citizens in Thailand will not vote in the regime elections. The remaining two percent may vote, but believe the election will be neither free nor fair.
