Kim Aris, Aung San Suu Kyi’s son living in London, welcomed news of the meeting with the ICRC but urged international observers to maintain caution regarding her health and living conditions. “While this news gives me hope, I remain cautious… One reported meeting cannot answer the questions my family has lived with for more than five years,” said Aris in a statement on Aug. 3.
