An immigration official was killed after a bomb exploded this morning at 105 Mile Trade Zone Checkpoint in Northern Shan state’s border town Muse.
Locals said the bomb exploded at the vehicle checkpoint around 5am, which killed a 39-year-old immigration official.
Police in Muse refused to comment on the situation.
The explosion comes amid reports that fighting has erupted today between Kachin Independence Army troops and the Burmese military in Laiza, Kachin state, which is about 100 kilometers from the checkpoint. No groups have claimed responsibility for the attack.
