Burma’s farmers fight copper mine over eviction

The construction of a government-backed copper mine in Northern Burma has led to the forced relocation of farmers and families in Sagaing division. Testing their new-found freedom of expression, the Burmese farmers are speaking out. The NGO Asian Legal Resources Centre reported that Burma is at risk of falling into a land-grabbing epidemic, especially from government projects with links to the military.
