The meeting next month will be joined by a 21-person delegation lead by the CNF’s Secretary General Pu Zin Kyon, while President’s Office Minister Aung Min will head the government’s negotiating team.

The CNF is also planning to meet with the Chin National Party to discuss cooperation for regional develop after the talks.

The CNF has been engaged in an armed struggle for more than 20 years with the Burmese military but signed a ceasefire agreement with the government in January. The group held union-level talks for the first time in May. During the meeting, the armed group agreed to open liaison offices in Tedim, Matupi and Htantalan townships in Chin state.
