China commits to continue providing assistance to Burma

The military regime signed several bilateral agreements with China during a ceremony to mark the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations in Naypyidaw on June 8, Burmese and Chinese state media reported. The Minister for Foreign Affairs Than Swe and China’s Ambassador to Burma Chen Hai were in attendance. China will transfer $3.8 million USD to Burma for 14 Mekong-Lancang Cooperation projects, which includes funds for agriculture, tourism, electricity, technology, and trade. China reportedly donated three million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Burma. Ambassador Chen Hai said that China will continue to provide assistance to Burma.
