Data states 326 members of pro-military forces have surrendered

FROM THE DVB NEWSROOM

Three weeks since the Brotherhood Alliance of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), and the Arakan Army (AA) launched Operation 1027 in northern Shan State and DVB data states that a total of 326 soldiers, police and militia members have surrendered to resistance forces across Myanmar since Oct. 26.

More than half this number surrendered to the Brotherhood Alliance in northern Shan State, including 126 Light Infantry Battalion members on Nov. 14. The total 326 includes 261 soldiers, 50 police officers, and 15 pro-military militia members, according to DVB.

On Nov. 15, an unknown number of police and soldiers surrendered to the AA in Arakan State and the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force in Karenni State. The National Unity Government (NUG) states that over 14,000 members of pro-military forces have defected to resistance groups from February 2021 to September 2023.
