Aerial Attacks by Military Regime Since the Earthquake

On March 28, 2025, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar. DVB has reported not only on-the-ground developments during the earthquake but also on the ongoing atrocities committed by the military.

“Aerial Attacks by Military Regime Since the Earthquake” is an interactive dashboard developed by the DVB Data Team using Tableau software. The dataset is compiled from multiple news sources that were carefully reviewed and coded by the Data Team to document aerial attacks. One of the key challenges in sourcing these events is the limited accessibility of reliable reports from many conflict-affected areas across the country.

This dashboard allows users to explore reported aerial attacks carried out by the regime — including airstrikes, drone attacks, and paramotor and gyrocopter assaults — as well as their impacts on civilians, infrastructure, and key public facilities.

It is designed to support journalists, human rights defenders, atrocity documentation groups, and the broader public by providing a consolidated and visual overview of the regime’s aerial operations. While the data is based on the best available information, it may not capture all events and should therefore be interpreted with caution.

DVB uses geographic and administrative data developed by Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU).
