Parliament yesterday opened its doors for the first time in more than two decades. The gleaming new building in Naypyidaw hosted 1000-plus MPs and military representatives to formally adopt the 2008 constitution and elected leaders of the upper and lower houses. Journalists were banned from entering, and instead footage of the interior of the parliament building was captured from video cameras attached to walls.
